  • In this unit you will be asked to create a presentation about yourself and present it to the class using suitable presentation software, a projector and a spoken commentry from you!

    You will consider using fonts, colours and sounds based upon their suitability of purpose to enhance your presentation.

    You will also upload your presentation to the VLE for the teacher to mark and you may even be given a chance to mark your own or even the presentations of everyone else in the class evil

  • In this unit
    you will identify the purposes of information. You will consider how to
    set up a survey sample and phrase questions appropriately, so that you
    can gather information that is relevant to the task.

    You
    will explore the Internet as a source of information and learn how to
    narrow down a search. Finally, you will learn how you can be misled by
    inaccurate or incomplete information and how to judge the reliability
    of a website.

  • In this unit
    you will plan and create a leaflet to give pupils in Year 6 information
    about subjects they will study in Key Stage 3.

    You
    will explore the use of images, text, colour and layout to enhance your
    leaflets. You will consider how to match the design of your leaflet to
    a given audience and purpose. Finally, you will identify evaluation
    criteria and use them to evaluate your work for different audiences and
    purposes.

  • In this unit you will use web technology to design and create a website for a ‘virtual’ visit to your school.

    Over the lessons, you should develop sufficient understanding of web technology to create and evaluate an efficient and effective website design. When producing your webpages you will need to consider that different web browsers display web pages in different ways and take account of this.

  • In this unit, you will extend and refine search methods. You will explore the Internet as a source of information and
    consider the importance of evaluating the information you find in terms of its reliability, validity and possible bias.

    Finally, you will decide how well the information satisfies the reason
    for looking for it and the extent of its ‘fitness for purpose’.
